President: Jonathan Scherling
A De Witt native, Jonathan has been teaching American Sign Language at University of Nebraska at Omaha since August, 2007.
He graduated from Gallaudet University in 2007 with a B.A. in American Sign Language/Deaf Studies. He served as a Vice President of the NeAD from 2007
until 2009.
Vice-President: Kristina Lorenzo
Kristina, who was originally born in New Jersey, has been a resident of Nebraska for 15 years now.
A mainstreamed student her entire educational years, Kristina went to Gallaudet University in 2004-2005 before transferring to the
University of Nebraska at Omaha to complete her B.S. degree in Biology in 2008. Kristina has worked at the University of Nebraska Medical
Center since obtaining her degree; she was recently promoted to work in a research lab at UNMC, dealing with immunology studies. Kristina was
crowned Miss Deaf Nebraska 2007-2009 and was placed in the Top 6 finalists at the Miss Deaf America Pageant, which was held in New Orleans in Summer 2008.
Secretary: Lynda Collicott
Lynda, an airforce brat, was born in Miami, Florida, and has been a resident of Lincoln for six years.
After graduating from Arlington High School in New York, she went on to live an enriched life with her husband of 19 years,
whom she met in Gallaudet University. Lynda is a stay at home mom to 5 girls, ages 19 yrs to 6 months. Upon moving to Lincoln,
Lynda went to Hamilton College, now Kaplan University, and attained her Associates degree in Accounting in 2007.
Lynda has been involved with the deaf community since 2005 and is the chairperson for the Lincoln Association of the Deaf/Midwest
Athletic Association of the Deaf Basketball tournament in 2014.
Treasurer: Albert Sparks
Albert is a native Nebraskan and is treasurer at NeAD. He has been loyal to NeAD because he became a member right after he graduated
from Nebraska School for the Deaf in 1967. He served as a Treasurer for several organizations; NeAD from 1991 until 1995, Midwest Athletic
Association of the Deaf, and Lincoln Association of the Deaf. His hobby is being a photographer
